The Cambodia Trade Development Board had on 19th March 1987 appointed Cambodia Manufacturers Federation ( SMa ) then known as Cambodia Manufacturers Association ( CMA ) as the national body to implement and administer an international article number system in Cambodia. Accordingly, the Executive Committee of the SMA approved the establishment of the GS1 Cambodia Council ( GS1 Cambodia ) to be responsible for giving effect to an International Article Number System in Cambodia. The GS1 Cambodia Council ( GS1 Cambodia ) being a component of Cambodia Manufacturers Federation ( SMa ) is governed by the rules and regulation constitution of SMa. Only one organization per country is eligible to become a member of EAN International. This national numbering organization manages and promotes the EAN.UCC system in the country. Individual companies, manufactures, retailers and wholesalers participate in the EAN.UCC system through the national numbering organization representing their country.In Cambodia, the GS1 Cambodia is non profit organization under the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce manages and promotes the EAN.UCC system.
